Gambit, Boston, 1970, 3rd pr.  Hard cover, 183 pages including Index.  White boards with black lettering on blue cloth spine; bit of sunning at spine ends; bit of age spotting on boards; some corner and lower spine end wear.  Binding sound with head and heel bands; blue top-stain.  Dust jacket with price intact shows edge and cover wear, creases, tears and repaired tears on verso, some losses.  Photographic end papers; gift inscription on half title page, black & white frontis of author.  Interior clean and unmarked; black & white photos within; newspaper clippings laid in.  ‘When the junta of colonels overthrew the Greek democracy in 1967, Helen Vlachos suspended publication of her internationally famous newspaper Kathimerini.  She was the only Greek newspaper owner, right or left, who refused to publish under censorship.  Her effective protest led first to pleas on the part of the colonels, then to harassment, and finally to house arrest.’ (from front flap)
