Davey, London, Ontario, 1881, 1^st ed.  Hard cover, 99 pages plus 12 pages of ads.  Corners bumped and worn with a bit of board exposed, spine ends bumped with wear and small tears.  Boards bowed, old water issue has cause some lifting and rippling to cloth on front; some edge wear and small spots on boards.  Gray end papers; front paste-down has a few spots and blisters.  Interior pages show some smudges/soil, foxing, and some evidence of biopredation.  A few straightened creases and corner bends; erased pencil marks in the bottom margins of pp. 18-19; one word on p. 79 corrected in ink.  All pages secure.  Black & white frontis of a bird on the wing, head profiles of two dogs in cameo on dedication page, plus four full-page illustrations by Henry Beech.  Not pretty, but original and complete.  ‘Full and Accurate Methods of Loading the Modern Breech-Loader; Instructions Concerning Powder, Shot and Wadding; and Hints on Wing-Shooting, Together With Instructive and Positive Methods for Hunting Snipe, Woodcock, Ruffed Grouse and Quail.’ (from p. vii)
