Gift inscription on front end-paper; interior pages unmarked; occasional small age spot; some off-setting on pp. 16-17, probably from some paper laid in. With fifty illustrations by John Tenniel including frontispiece. Sequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Alice discovers that she can go through the wall-hung mirror at her home and enter an alternative world with a chess board and pieces theme.
