Macmillan, London, December 1908, reprint of miniature edition of October 1908.  Hard cover, 6 ¼” x 4 ¼” x ¾”; 229 pages plus 2 pages of ads for other works by this author.  Very good condition for age; red boards blind ruled front and rear; gilt medallion of Queen on front board; gilt on spine.  Binding sound with a bit of a lean; light wear to edges and spine ends; bit of soil on boards and outer page block.  Gift inscription on front end-paper; interior pages unmarked; occasional small age spot; some off-setting on pp. 16-17, probably from some paper laid in.  With fifty illustrations by John Tenniel including frontispiece.  Sequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Alice discovers that she can go through the wall-hung mirror at her home and enter an alternative world with a chess board and pieces theme.
