Adam and Charles Black, London, 1908, Second Edition.  Hard cover, 256 pages including Bibliography and Index, followed by several pages of ads.  Green cloth with embossed gilt title on front and black lettering surrounded by black embossed decorative frame;  embossed gilt title on spine with similar black lettering and frame; publisher’s logo embossed on rear board.  Rounded corners lightly bumped; spine ends bumped with tiny tears to cloth; tiny piece of cloth rubbed off on front spine edge, small puncture on spine.  Front and rear have a few spots; small wrinkle to cloth at lower front corner.  Binding cracked in areas but all pages secure.  Front paste-down and EP is a colour illustration of the Grand Hotel; illustrated with 8 colour plates including frontis by Alberto Pisa; two fold-out plans bound in (Plan of Forum, Plan of Vatican), plus Plan of Rome in pocket at rear (a few small tears at corner folds).  One colour plate has light pencil markings on verso.  Interior clean and unmarked with occasional smudge/stray pencil mark.  ‘It describes in sufficient detail the most important objects of interest in Rome; and while it will mainly appeal to tourists who are only able to spend a few weeks in the Eternal City, it will not neglect the interests of more leisured visitors.’ (from Introduction)
