Lund Humphries, London, 1954.  Hard cover, 80 pages including Notes and Bibliography.  Former library book with usual markings, labels and attachments.  Black cloth over boards with wear along edges and some board exposed; library binding sound.  Dust jacket with price intact shows some markings on front and rear flaps, some wear along spine and folds; has library brodart cover with rubs and impressions, and flaps glued to paste-downs   Old splash marks along bottom edges and on Introductory pages resulting in some waviness but all text very readable; occasional small soil spot; small library stamps throughout; colour and black & white illustrations.  ‘Robert Sowers, as author and stained-glass practitioner, starts with the origins of stained glass in the arts of the glazier and the Carolingian jeweler and traces the development of the craft from the little-known Augsburg windows of the eleventh century to its contemporary revival.’ (from front flap)
