William Morrow, New York, 1941, believe 1st US edition; Morrow Mystery on lower spine.  Hard cover, 248 pages.  Brown boards with green lettering and decorations on spine; boards soiled with some age-spots, corners bumped and worn to boards with some fraying; spine ends bumped and worn with some small tears to cloth and fraying; shelf-wear on bottom edges resulted in some splits to cloth and fraying.  No jacket.  Some age-spotting and a bit of soil on outer page block; green-tinted top edge somewhat dulled.  Binding good with a very slight lean.  Prior owner’s name and date inked on front end paper as well as a bit of glue residue from label removal; off-setting on front paste-down from same former label.  Small ink numbers on rear paste-down near lower gutter; remainder of interior pages clean and unmarked with occasional age-spotting/smudges; some straightened corner creases.  Humorous mystery novel of young woman from California who goes east to find her father’s relatives.  She finds herself in the midst of greedy inheritors, a murder, and falls in love although the romance is filled with interruptions.
