Description

University of Toronto Press, 1922.  Hard cover, 163 pages including Notes.  Green paper over boards, green cloth spine with white paste on label.  Binding is sound; corners are worn to boards; splash marks on cloth spine and label.  Fairly heavy foxing on first few and last pages with some lesser spotting in text; no prior ownership marking, no underlining or hi-lighting in text.  ‘The following lectures were delivered in the University of Toronto, in October, 1921, under the Marfleet Foundation.  They were designed as an introduction to the study of the constitutional development of Canada from 1760 to the present time; and they include a short sketch of the system of government which prevailed during the French regime from 1608 to 1760, as well as a glance at problems confronting democracy in the immediate future.’ (from Preface)  Sir Robert Laird Borden served as the eighth Prime Minister of Canada from October 10, 1911 to July 10, 1920.
