Description
William Briggs, Toronto, 1896, believe 1st. Hard cover, 282 pages followed by ads. Red boards with black illustrations and gilt lettering on front and spine. Boards have some edge wear, corners bumped and worn with bits of board exposed, spine ends worn with tiny tears. Boards have a few stains; spine darkened; binding cracked in spots; small lean to spine. Decorative endpapers, gift inscription on first blank page; black & white frontis with torn and foxed tissue guard. A few loose pages; one illustration laid in; two illustrations missing. Foxing on some pages; smudges/old, dried mildew marks on some pages; one page has possibly a drop of clear dried wax. Illustrations by J. E. Laughlin. Author’s continuing narrative of pioneering and settlement at Old Fort Edmonton and along the Saskatchewan Valley.
