Corners are bumped and show wear with bottom corners worn to boards with some fraying. Sunned spine has a short tear in cloth, ends bumped with some wear and small tears to cloth with a bit of fraying. Some edge wear, spot of soil on front board, some age-toning all around. No jacket. Presumed book dealer’s small stamp and penciled initials on front paste down, prior owner’s name and address typed along fore-edge of front end paper, circled ‘9’ inked on rear end page lower corner; no other interior markings noted. Outer page block browned, bottom edge rough cut. Interior pages browned with a few short edge tears; binding cracked in spots, but all pages secure. (Pseudonym of Irish author Clothide Augusta Inez Mary Graves, successful playwright in London and New York (3 June 1863 - 3 December 1932). She was a cousin of Alfred Perceval Graves, the father of the poet Robert Graves and his brother Charles Patrick Graves. Short stories depicting the people, society and mores of the era.
