Description

Blakiston, Philadelphia, PA, 1945, 1st pr. Thus.  Hard cover, 366 pages including Index.  Good plus; green-gray boards with boxed black lettering on front and spine, a few age spots; corners and spine ends bumped with a bit of wear; binding sound, top edge stained red.  No jacket but front inner flap laid in.  Date underlined on copyright page; bit of smudging on fore-edge page block plus last Index page and blank page; remainder of interior clean and unmarked with very occasional age spot.  A chemical engineer helped a friend by taking his place on a radio program and talked about cooking.  ‘It was a new point of view that took the mystery and the trouble out of cooking …  Several thousand letters came in to the radio station asking for more.  …He became one of the ranking stars of the radio world and he and his sponsors were swamped with demands for a complete cook book containing his famous easy recipes for delicious meals.’ (from front flap)
