The Ryerson Press, Toronto, November, 1950, believe 1st. Vintage hard cover, 143 pages. Mustard coloured boards with brown lettering and decoration on front board, brown lettering on spine. Corners and spine ends bumped with some wear; lower corners worn to boards and all four corners have some fraying. Boards show some soil, red mark on front, splash marks on back. Bit of soil and age spotting on outer page bloc, binding sound. Gift inscription inked on front paste-down dated 1965; crayon on front end paper. Majority of interior clean and unmarked, but there are occasional smudge marks, stray pen or pencil marks, and scattered age spots/toning. Top-edge tear on one page near gutter. P. 57 shows a scar/tear at the end of the chapter and a tape repair, not affecting any text. Black & white illustrations by Margaret Salisbury. Children’s Reader. Chapter book with 22 chapters, about a lonely 7 year old boy on Peach Tree Farm whose cousin comes to visit until his ill mother gets better. Some chapters are: A Visit to Niagara Falls, Going to St. Catharines, Going to Welland, The Canal, The Trip to Toronto, etc. Rare/scarce title.
