Corners worn to boards with splits to cloth, edge wear all around, spine ends heavily worn with losses to cloth. Binding cracked and cloth split two thirds from top gutter, horizontal tear to cloth at mid spine; front board attached basically by lower third of cloth. Intermittent losses to cloth along rear spine edge. Boards show some soil and stains, age-toning/spots; some foxing on outer page block. Binding cracked at several places internally, a few loose pages near beginning. Some loss to paste-down at upper front corner, prior owner’s name penciled on title page; a few small corner losses not affecting text; some edge tears; pp. 159 & 164 have longer tears into text; some smudges and fox spots, pages tanning; profusely decorated with black and white illustrations.
