Nathan Simon, New York, no date but believe circa 1900.  Hard cover, with Book The First-Poverty being chapters 1 to 36 containing pages 1 to 446, and Book The Second-Riches being chapters 1 to 17 containing pages 447 to 654.  Purple cloth over boards with chipped paper label on spine; edge, cover, corner and spine end wear, bit of board exposed at 3 corners and lower rear edge, small tears to cloth at spine top; some spots, fading and damp mark to cloth.  Binding with headbands, all pages secure; top edge gilt showing a bit of waviness from water, fore and bottom edges untrimmed (some pages have not been opened).  Old water marks at some top margins, not affecting readability; occasional age spot.  Illustrations by “Phiz” (H. K. Browne); all illustrations present with printed tissue guards intact.  One of the first thousand impressions from a new set of plates, with publisher’s facsimile signature.
